God is Faithful

I like numbers. So, for one reason or another I hear God best when He uses them to speak to me. I didn’t know how, on a budget where my expenses increased dramatically and my income was cut in half, I could ever afford to tithe, but God challenged me to test Him. He has more than provided for our needs ever since. Still, I couldn’t help but think about all the things I could be buying with the money I was giving back to God. I resolved to trust God and gave joyfully knowing it was already His. I filed my taxes recently and the refund I received was more than what I had tithed that year! Some people might say it was because I paid in too much tax or qualify for deductions, but there is no doubt in my mind that God once again proved to me how good He is. I gave to Him in faith, and He in turn has blessed my family abundantly. ‘Bring the whole tithe into the storehouse…Test me in this,’ says the Lord Almighty, ‘ and see if I will not throw open the floodgates of heaven and pour out so much blessing that you will not have room enough for it.” Malachi 3:10 NIV
