Gift of a Neighbor

This winter, one of my neighbors gave me an incredible gift: he blew the snow off my driveway with his snow blower. I came home from work with the work already done! I was so grateful that I went to his house to thank him. He invited me in and proceeded to show me all the machines he was fixing up in his garage. If I’m honest, I had a lot to do and was trying to find a pause long enough to excuse myself and go home. Then, it dawned on me. This was an opportunity, a window, for me to get to know him and maybe see where that took us. So, I settled into simply enjoying my time with him. Since then, we have talked several times and are planning for he and his wife and my wife and me to go out to eat together! Who knows where this will eventually lead! Funny thing, I had been praying for ways to be more relevant in my neighborhood, and I almost missed a chance…
