Our Biblical Beliefs Jesus Jesus Christ is the Son of God. He was born into this world through a virgin birth, fully God and fully man. He died on the cross to pay for the sin of man. God raised Him from the dead and He appeared alive to His followers before ascending into Heaven. There He reigns over all creation and is preparing a reward for those who trust in Him for their salvation and who live according to His will. One day He will return in power and glory to lead the living and the dead to judgement. Matthew 1:24-25, John 1:1, John 14:2-3, Timothy 3:15, Acts 10:42 The Bible The Bible is the inspired, infallible, authoritative Word of God. It is our guide for living. We have no other manual. 2 Timothy 3:16 Membership Salvation makes one a member of God’s church. No man can vote one in or out. For that reason we have no formal church membership. Galations 3:27-29, Ephesians 2:19 The Church There is only one church in God’s sight and it is made up of all those that have chosen Jesus Christ as Savior and Lord. We are non-demoninational and believe in the unity of God’s Church. We are affiliated with the Church of God headquartered in Anderson, Indiana. Affiliation gives accountability without control. Each church is autonomous with the ability to determine its own direction, budget, teaching and staff. 1 Corinthians 1:10-13 Holy Spirit We believe in the present ministry of the Holy Spirit. The Holy Spirit is the third person of the Trinity and every believer receives His presence. Through his power believers are enabled to live a godly life. Luke 11:13, Galatians 5:22, Ephesians 1:13-14 Holiness of the Believer God’s Spirit enables us to live above daily continual sin. At the acceptance of Jesus Christ as Savior and Lord we are kept by His grace and we are empowered to sustain an continuing relationship with Him. 1 Corinthians 10:13, Hosea 6:6, 1 John 1:9 Spiritual Gifts The Holy Spirit gives one or more spiritual gifts to each Christian. We believe every believer is a minister and is encouraged to find, in God’s timing, his or her place of service in the Body of Christ, the Church. 1 Corinthians 12:4-7. We are commited to:
