Community Center Cause

Maybe you haven’t thought about the Indian Creek Community Church building at 12480 Black Bob as a community center, but it is! The building is the home of the Olathe campus and Indian Creek staff, but there is much more to the story of what happens in the building each week.

Little Treasures Learning Center and Preschool
Little Treasures was a part of the heart of Indian Creek before this building was even here. When the building was built the impact of Little Treasures to this city has expanded. Over the years it has served hundreds of families and thousands of kids. It has even saved a life! A young lady was going to abort her baby because she couldn’t afford childcare and because of the sponsorship program of Little Treasures, that mother gave birth to her baby and the child grew up in Little Treasures day care. With your help we hope to offer $36,000 in scholarships to families in need in 2010.

Via de Esperanza
Via de Esperanza is a Spanish-speaking church led by Pastor Daniel Bocanegra that meets at Indian Creek’s Olathe Campus on Sunday mornings: Bible study is at 9:00 a.m.; service is at 10:45 a.m.. Indian Creek has partnered with Via de Esperanza over the past few years to meet needs in the Hispanic community.

Benevolence Fund
The Benevolence fund provides emergency support to those in need. Many have benefitted from this support and have later contributed themselves so that others can receive help when they need it.

Red Cross Emergency Shelter
Indian Creek is a designated Red Cross Emergency Shelter. Hopefully we never have to use our facility this way but this is how we think of our building: as a resource to love and serve the community!

Indian Creek Food Pantry
Indian Creek operates an emergency food pantry at the Olathe Campus that serves the congregation and the community. Requests for food, personal items, and cleaning products have increase in the past year. When you hit the grocery store, consider the food pantry and provide a meal for a hungry family!

Facility Use
Open seven days a week, the facility is used by more than 40 outside community organizations like Triiilogy Cultural Arts Centre, the Chinese School, Scouts, sports teams, Community Bible Study. Offering generous use of our facility and underwriting lease space for non-profits is one way Indian Creek serves the community. We’ve started to think of ourselves as a community center, because that’s how others think of us! With your involvement and support we can continue to live generously in our community.
